We’ve uploaded photos of the race to our Facebook/Twitter pages so check them out there: Facebook, Facebook event page and Twitter where you can post your own using the hashtag #LGBT5k.

It’s more fun running together!

Just like previous years we provided a £50 donation for any team or cause per 12 members entered. If you are in a club already, or fancy creating your own team to raise some money for a good cause then this is a great way to raise some funds. How often do you get paid to run!

Supporting Rainbow Home

This year Newcastle Frontrunners supported Rainbow Home with a £1 donation made for every entry to the LGBT5k. Rainbow Home are a group working lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans asylum seekers in Newcastle and the Northeast. They provide a support in a safe space, with integration, friendship, confidence, to help enable them to feel at home. Find out more about their work via Mesmac.

Not run 5k before? Join our Couch to 5k!

Couch to 5k is a great way for anyone to start to run, culminating in completing the LGBT 5k in July. We’ll be launching another programme later in the year, so drop us a line now.

C25K is aimed at all running abilities from beginners, those who haven’t done any for a while, to those who are maybe returning from injury – the C25K programme will work for you all. Meet the NFR team and your fellow C25k-ers at Gosforth Pool, and enjoy a chat, fruit and maybe cake afterwards.
