NFR LGBT5k Festival of Running 2020 Join us on the evening of the Friday 17th July 2020 with a running event for everyone!

On your marks…

We return on the evening of Friday 17th July on Newcastle Town Moor in conjunction with Northern Pride.

Not one, two but three races: our infamous LGBT5k £17/£15 (price held from 2019), plus the relay and children’s race (price tbc).

All participants get a medal and the best goody bag in the north east!

Get set…

Don’t forget to tell your mates you’re running, join in on our Facebook event page, and tweet using #LGBT5kFest.

Supporting Rainbow Home

Once again Newcastle Frontrunners support Rainbow Home with a £1 donation made for every entry to the LGBT5k. Rainbow Home are a group working lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans asylum seekers in Newcastle and the north east. They provide a support in a safe space, with integration, friendship, confidence, to help enable them to feel at home. Find out more about their work via Mesmac.

Event details

As a reminder, the date is the evening of Friday 17th July 2019. The event will again coincide with Newcastle Pride weekend, will take place on Newcastle’s Town Moor, and all events occur on the same evening.

Introduced in 2018 the children’s 2k and the 3-person relay where each person runs approx. 1 mile, were a great success. If you can’t manage a full 5k, are returning from injury, you have a couple of friends you’d love to run with as a team, or fancy a bit of friendly competition with other clubs, the relay is the ideal event for you. You can run the relay as well as the 5k race.

Approximate timings are:

5.45pm:    Children’s 2k (age 5-15)
6.30pm:    3×1-mile relay
7.15pm:    The traditional LGBT5k
